The right-back for England has now contributed an assist in each of his previous three United games. Trippier’s free kick also created an opportunity for Sven Botman to connect with the ball in the box, setting up Fabian Schar for Newcastle’s second goal.

Eddie Howe’s team won the match thanks to a goal from Guimaraes in the second half after Forest had tied the score twice in the first half.

Trippier then posted a picture of himself during the game on social media with the following caption: “We demonstrated the will we needed to return and win the game.” Everyone, have a great weekend.

In response to the post, Guimaraes gave Trippier a nickname that was appropriate considering his season-long services to the team.

“King of assists,” said the Brazilian.

Trippier and Guimaraes have gelled recently, with the Brazilian setting up the right-back against Luton with a superb trivela pass. Then, against Forest, Tripiper paid it forward by laying off the ball for the midfield player to volley in at the back post.

In addition, Trippier helped Fabian Schar in the team’s most recent 3-1 victory over Aston Villa and Sean Longstaff in the 4-4 draw with The Hatters.
