Drake Maye is one of the top quarterback prospects in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, and he is already doing his homework with one of the league’s all-time greats, which should only help him in the long run.

The North Carolina signal-caller has been taking pointers from none other than Eli Manning, which he revealed recently in a report by The New York Post last week.

“I’ve been working with Eli throughout the process, having conversations with him about football and getting on Zooms,” Maye stated. “Dave Morris, his college backup quarterback, is training me for the draft while I work out in Mobile, Alabama.”

It’s a tiny planet. Additionally, I got to see Eli and Peyton this summer because I was at the Manning Camp,” he continued.

Drake Maye and Justin Herbert are comparable.
Drake Maye had an 8-018 yard passing average, 63 touchdowns, 16 interceptions, and a 64.9 percent completion percentage during his three years at North Carolina. At 6 feet 4 inches and 230 pounds, Drake Maye is a fantastic size for an NFL quarterback.

Drake Maye is frequently likened to quarterback Justin Herbert of the Los Angeles Chargers because of his powerful arms, ability to throw the ball even when moving, and exceptional scrambling ability when called upon.

However, just like Justin Herbert, Drake Maye can run into bad sacks and throw horrendous interceptions, especially when under pressure to save a play. But those issues are fixable if Maye lands in a great situation.

Drake Maye is projected to be the third-best quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft. Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels are expected to join the Chicago Bears and the Washington Commanders, respectively, so there’s a big chance that the New York Giants draft Maye with the sixth overall pick.

“The Giants have plenty tied up in Daniel Jones, but everyone can see how badly this offense needs an upgrade at quarterback,” wrote Devin Jackson via The Philadelphia Inquirer. “And Maye – who can operate from the pocket and on the move while fitting passes into tight windows – checks the boxes.”
