Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) / XLeBron James, the standout player for the Los Angeles Lakers, was reportedly targeted by the Golden State Warriors during the NBA trade deadline, but such attempts were unsuccessful. James’s agent Rich Paul corroborated the allegation from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne, stating that the Warriors “made an unsuccessful bid” to persuade the Lakers to trade the 39-year-old before the deadline, in an interview with Stephen A. Smith on Wednesday. Paul was very explicit in saying that his client had no interest in making such a move and is dedicated to the Lakers.
You obviously know it to be true. False information won’t be reported by Woj or Ramona. However, I believe it speaks something about LeBron and the Warriors, who are still competitive and aggressive,” Paul remarked.”[LeBron] is committed to the Lakers, Jeanie [Buss] has been an incredible partner for him and us, and I think it’s important for that to be understood and to be respected.”
The Philadelphia 76ers and the Warriors were among the clubs who reportedly expressed interest in Los Angeles during the trade deadline to get James, but the Lakers turned down their advances. Though it’s certainly intriguing to think of James and Stephen Curry together in Golden State, Paul made it plain that the four-time MVP hasn’t wavered in his commitment to Los Angeles.
