Ahead of Saturday’s West Ham match against Nottingham Forest, David Moyes has provided an update on Lucas Paqueta and Michail Antonio’s injuries. (17 February).

The Brazilian international is back on the pitch, according to the Hammers manager, who made this announcement during his pre-match press conference on Friday, February 16 (via Ben Dinnery). However, the 26-year-old will not be ready for the match at the City Ground.

West Ham thrash Gent to reach semi-finals

Kurt Zouma and Edson Alvarez have been declared fit to play against Forest, and Antonio, who is back in the lineup, will be evaluated by the Irons prior to the game.

Antonio’s expected return against his former team after missing the previous few months due to injury is undoubtedly a plus.
Although the Jamaican international has performed admirably in Jarrod Bowen’s place, West Ham has missed having a focal point to lead the line and offer some presence to distract the opposition’s defence.
Although Paqueta’s lack of full fitness is disheartening, it appears that he is coming closer to being fully recovered and won’t be too long to make a comeback.

Alvarez’s fitness to start alongside captain Zouma has been questioned, but he should be ready as we attempt to recover from our humiliating 6-0 loss to Arsenal on February 11.

Moyes will be aware of how crucial it is for his team to respond against Forest because it may have a big impact on his future after this season.
