Jimmy Garoppolo could be a good fit for Sean Payton and the Broncos, He can pass with timing and rhythm, for starters. His skills, which include his years of experience as an intermediate passer, seem to fit the Payton offense perfectly. Nor does it detract from his argument that he is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University. Payton did, after all, matriculate there. Tony Romo, whom Payton developed for three years in Dallas before leaving to join the New Orleans Saints, is another one of the great success stories for Payton.
Therefore, if the Broncos decide to move on from Russell Wilson, it will be difficult to ignore making connections between Jimmy Garoppolo and the team given his skill set and relationship.
However, matters are made more difficult by his two-game suspension for violating the league’s policy regarding performance-enhancing drugs. The ban was originally reported on Friday by Adam Schefter of ESPN.
A seasoned addition would have an opportunity to compete with Jarrett Stidham for the starting job while that young passer develops if the Broncos select a quarterback of the future in the first round of the draft. It’s also possible that the rookie would play backup duty and the Broncos would only retain the victor of that competition.
However, since Garoppolo would be out for the first two weeks, they would have to stick with both of their seasoned quarterbacks.

Jimmy Garoppolo is still officially a member of the Las Vegas Raiders, but they plan to let him loose early next month in order to avoid having to pay him an eight-figure roster bonus. Thus, O’Connell gained the starting position following Las Vegas’ defeat to Detroit in Garoppolo’s comeback game, helped by Josh McDaniels’ firing in favor of Antonio Pierce as head coach.
Garoppolo did not re-start. In the end, the Raiders didn’t miss him.
Furthermore, Garoppolo’s injury followed a trajectory that began in 2018 when he tore his ACL three games into the year. He has missed numerous games because of injury in each of the previous six seasons, with the exception of 2019. as well as his debut season away from the Shanahan-McVay plot
