In his first season in the English premier league, Taiwo Awoniyi scored 10 goals to help Nottingham Forest, led by Steve Cooper, just avoid relegation.

Following Taiwo Awoniyi’s injury during Nottingham Forest’s 2-0 victory over West Ham, the Super Eagles striker has sent an update to Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

Having contributed to eight goals from fourteen league games, Awoniyi, 26, has been in excellent form for the Reds this season.

The former Union Berlin forward missed the AFCON 2023 competition in Ivory Coast due to a recurrence of the same groyne injury, but he has since recovered.

Yesterday, Nuno’s team travelled to their home match against a struggling West Ham club. Awoniyi gave his team the lead just before halftime, and Callum Hudson Odoi added the game’s second goal.

The Nigerian striker was forced to leave the game shortly after the hour mark due to what appeared to be another injury, and his coach stated that he has been dealing with the issue for some time, making hints about

“We must evaluate him and ascertain his condition. He hasn’t played much and has been suffering for a while, as we all know. He did more than he ought to have, but we pushed him. According to statements made public by Derby Unifoot, the former Wolves boss stated, “We hope it’s nothing serious.”

Nottingham Forest is six points clear of the relegation zone and presently sits in 15th place in the Premier League standings.
