West Ham star's agent slams club as fury over new contract puts future in doubt - Mirror OnlineA former Premier League manager has expressed interest in the Hammers manager, who is under fire following a poor run of results.

There is a minor issue there. Former manager of Spain, Real Madrid, and Wolverhampton Wanderers Julen Lopetegui reportedly stated that West Ham United would succeed where Crystal Palace failed if they moved to employ him as manager.

According to Football Insider, Lopetegui turned down a chance to succeed Roy Hodgson at Selhurst Park. Oliver Glasner, the former manager of Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt, is now regarded as a front-runner for the position.

They also state that Lopetegui would entertain an offer from the Hammers should they choose to fire David Moyes, who is under duress after going without a victory since the start of the season.

Since then, West Ham has lost badly to Manchester United and Arsenal, been eliminated from the FA Cup by Championship team Bristol City, drawn with Brighton, Sheffield United, and Bournemouth, and on Saturday afternoon lost 2-0 to struggling Nottingham Forest.
On Sunday morning, Alan Nixon revealed that the West Ham board is moving on with its intentions to offer Moyes a new contract.
The reporter stated on his Patreon page that the West Ham board saw last week’s 0–6 home loss to Arsenal as a “one-off” and that negotiations between the two teams are currently at a high level.
Despite their recent bad play, West Ham is still ninth in the Premier League standings and had won the Europa Conference crown the season before, putting them in the running for more European honors.
After winning their group and earning a bye to the round of 32, Moyes’ team will find out on Friday morning who their opponents are in the Europa League round of 16.
