Joking, Nottingham Forest star Shay Given Considering how many opportunities Anthony Elanga had against West Ham that went begging, he might want to pass on Match of the Day.

Elanga failed to find the back of the net despite having four shots, two of which forced Alphonse Areola into a save.

It didn’t really matter as 10-man West Ham lost 2-0 at City Ground on Saturday, February 17, in a Premier League match.

“I mean, Elanga probably won’t want to watch Match of the Day tonight,” former goalie Given said after showcasing each of Elanga’s opportunities on BBC Match of the Day [17 February, 1hr, 4m 59s]. Again, he had a couple opportunities.

Anthony Elanga would be beneficial to West Ham.
Although Areola, who was West Ham’s greatest player that day, made several incredible saves to keep Elanga out, he really ought to have scored at least once.

Despite without providing any assists, the former Manchester United player was a genuine threat the entire time and gave his team a game-high four chances [WhoScored].

From a West Ham perspective, how they could do with someone like Elanga in the side right now; a player who is able to create danger from nothing.

For a spell, Mohammed Kudus was that player for the Irons, but he has now missed five games in the claret and blue without a goal or an assist.

It is just not good enough that United has now gone three games without a goal as a team.

Although the team has quality, things are not clicking at the moment. If David Moyes wants to put a stop to the rumors about his future, he needs to fix this issue right away.
