The Dallas Cowboys had an excellent regular season, but they were not able to return to the Super Bowl. Both their offense and defense looked excellent, and it’s difficult to see the roster becoming any better. Nevertheless, Micah Parsons appears to know what the club needs in order to qualify for the Super Bowl the next season.

Parsons looked at the teams that ended up in the final four of the NFL playoffs. Each one had something unique on the defensive side of the ball. With that in mind, Parsons believes the Cowboys must acquire a linebacker and a defensive tackle who can both get after the quarterback at will.

During his appearance on The Stephen A. Smith Show, he said the following:
“Look at every team that made it to the final four,” I remarked. With whom did they have? Detroit and San Francisco. Who was it that Baltimore had? What a fantastic linebacking corps? Who was it that San Francisco had? Outstanding linebacking corps. They came along, and K.C. [Nick] Bolton. I stated that we must acquire a second, larger linebacker who will eventually come down.

330 ugly, great inside… We seem to have a large number of rushers. One of the most adaptable DTs, in my opinion, is Osa [Obdighizuwa], who can play both inside and outside. We lost a huge guy in [Johnathan Hankins], but we need to find one of those really old, mean, pass-rushing, hard-charging players.

That kind of defensive tackle would be very beneficial to the Cowboys. Any team can benefit greatly from having a defensive tackle who is also proficient at rush passing. It’s not like such players are easily accessible, either. Dallas would need to hope someone becomes available in free agency or hope to get lucky in the NFL Draft. In the event that such a defensive tackle isn’t available, the front management would need to make a trade.
