Running backs Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins are about to reach free agency, which means the Baltimore Ravens will face uncertainty throughout the summer. After starting player Dobbins suffered an Achilles injury in Week 1 and was out for the season, Edwards had a breakout year.

Although it is improbable, bringing back one or both is still a possibility. However, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, one of the Dallas Cowboys’ backs may end up in Charm City.

According to Fowler, Tony Pollard, the running back for the Cowboys, is a strong candidate to join with Baltimore. Coming off of his first season as an RB1, Pollard didn’t exactly shine in his new position. He replaced Ezekiel Elliott as the main ball carrier for the American team.

Despite hitting a career high in catches, Pollard’s average rushing yards per game dropped from 5.2 to 4.0, and his total receiving yards was the lowest since 2020. It demonstrates the numerous ways Dallas used him in the starting lineup.

Despite having a poor season, Pollard still managed 1,000 yards of rushes. That makes a statement.

He still has speed, though, and poses a threat to huge plays. If employed properly in an offense, I believe he can still be a very potent offensive weapon.

At just 27, Pollard is still rather young as well. Unless your name is Derrick Henry, running backs in the NFL are becoming less and less valuable, therefore this might be his last big contract.
