With the exception of their performance against the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship, the Baltimore Ravens have always placed a strong focus on physicality and the running game. Robert Griffin III, a former quarterback with the Ravens, thinks they should target Derrick Henry as they attempt to strengthen at the position this offseason.
There is only one place for him to go, Griffin said in a post on X. Because of the way he already plays, Derrick Henry ought to be a Baltimore Raven.
According to Griffin, “Derrick Henry has a clear passion to overcome the hump and play for a championship. He plays with physicality and is relentless in his preparation.”
Henry would have another chance to win the Super Bowl if he joined the Ravens.
Derrick Henry Still Has a Lot of Energy Left
At thirty years old, running backs often start to slow down, but Henry has only slightly indicated that he may be slowing down.
Since joining the league, the former Titan has emerged as one of the most formidable backs.
Henry was named to his fourth Pro Bowl this season and had the second highest rushing yards in the NFL.
Henry does have a ton of mileage on his legs as he has led the league in rush attempts four out of his eight seasons (and was on his way before an injury in 2021).
The Ravens may create a lethal combination with Henry and either Justice Hill or Keaton Mitchell by employing this tactic.
In the AFC Championship, the Ravens’ running backs managed just six rush attempts, with quarterback Lamar Jackson and wide receiver Zay Flowers sharing ten more carries. It would be improbable that they would add the “King” with him in the backfield.
