In less than seven months, Jon Fearn will step down from his position as Nottingham Forest’s head of medical.

Fearn only recently joined Forest in July as a part of a backroom change, but Mail Sport has learned that he is about to leave the City Ground. Fearn, who is well-liked in the industry, played for Chelsea for 13 years before departing in January 2023.

Why Fearn is leaving after only a short time on the job is unknown. After Steve Cooper was fired in December, Nuno Espirito Santo took over as manager. In his first press conference, he stated that Forest needed to improve their injury record.

For the first time in this century, Forest was promoted to the Premier League in 2022. Since then, however, they have struggled to field a full squad, largely because of players who have been playing in the African Cup of Nations. Nuno has had to deal with this situation since taking over.

Nuno stated: “It’s one of the things we have to improve” in a December speech. We can’t let players go.
