CalcioMercato reports that Everton is considering a bid to buy Roma custodian Mile Svilar during the summer transfer season.

The Serbian international, whose options with the Serie A club have been restricted, is being watched by the Toffees, according to an Italian news outlet that posted on its website on Saturday, February 24.

Mile Svilar: all about the promising new Roma's goalkeeper

However, it stated that unless they receive a “extraordinary” offer for the 24-year-old keeper’s services at the end of the season, the Italian team does not want to let him depart.

Everton unlikely to pay money much for Mile Svilar

If Roma is seeking for any interested parties to pay a fair transfer fee for Svilar, then it is unlikely that this transfer will go place.

If the England international were to unexpectedly leave Goodison Park, he would only be the backup option to first-choice keeper Jordan Pickford.

It’s no secret that the Toffees have been searching for a younger stopper to develop under the 29-year-old and eventually fill his shoes; however, the Serb may be a little older than what they would be considering.

This season, he has only made 11 appearances, nine of which have been in cup competitions. He has made two appearances in Serie A.

The Blues might be persuaded to make a bid for him if he were to become available for a reasonable price, but that seems unlikely considering their precarious financial circumstances.

Jamie Carragher has revealed the number of points that Everton could reclaim after their appeal.
