The New England Patriots, despite dominating parts of this offseason with the new hit Apple Tv+ documentary, in which all sorts of  risk fading into obscurity after another losing season, which eventually resulted in the Patriots parting ways with legendary head coach, Bill Belichick.

The NFL’s finances had a successful year, and as a result, the pay cap is rising dramatically.

The league declared that the cap will increase by about $30 million from the previous year to $255.4 million for the 2024 season. Now that the new media arrangements are in place, it is obvious that the owners have been cleaning up So what effect does the Patriots’ growing cap have?

According to Over The Cap, they now have the second-most cap space in the league at $82.9 million. That figure would increase to over $97 million if they decide to release J.C. Jackson in the next few days, which would vault them above Washington and into the top spot.

The significant wage cap increase in the league may or may not be advantageous to New England, depending on your point of view. Positively, they will undoubtedly have even more funds to spend in March and will have a full roster to bolster. However, this additional increase will help those teams who were stuck in salary limit hell and should increase the number of teams interested in signing free players. It will be fiercely contested.

In any case, Eliot Wolf and Jerod Mayo should have plenty of room on the roster and the Patriots have plenty of room. Robert Kraft vehemently refuted the idea that the team’s extravagant spending has been a problem during the Super Bowl.

“I’m sorry this misconception has been out there, “I think people should just look at our record. We’re privileged over the last 30 years to have the best win-loss record of any team in sports. We went to 10 Super Bowls. There are teams that haven’t gone to one. “I can assure our fans that spending will never be held back or the reason that we don’t sign players. I’ve actually tried to get us to sign players who maybe would’ve cost more but wouldn’t have been the right players or value. So, we always leave that to the people we assign the responsibility to.”
