After losing their opening preseason game of the year to the Canberra Raiders, 38 points to 16, the Parramatta Eels are having a poor start to the 2024 campaign.

There is a lot of false information out there about the powerful Eels, who are focused on winning their first premiership since 1986, while some of their key sponsors are nearing the end of their existing contracts and others are coming under public scrutiny.

ALAND has been a proud sponsor of the Parramatta Eels since 2016, and they are about to reach the last year of their current agreement. The collaboration has grown to be among the NRL’s most recognizable over time. Under the deal, the front and back of the teams’ playing jerseys feature the development, construction, sales, and property management company’s emblem prominently, merging in with the team colors.

We are pleased to carry on our partnership with the formidable Eels. When the arrangement was extended in 2021, ALAND founder Andrew Hrsto stated, “Parramatta is my home town; it’s where my heart is, and our business, ALAND, is built around this special place – Sydney’s geographical heart.” We can’t imagine a greater collaboration, and The Eels share that same passion. We have concentrated our efforts here, having already built hundreds of homes in the area, and we have plans to build many more in the years to come.

The media was first made aware of a private council document that detailed the different sponsorship opportunities open to council members back in December 2023.

The Eels have verified with B&T that the agreement reached and presented to Council consisted of a three-year agreement valued at $1.15 million beginning in January 2024.

Councillor Michelle Garrard insisted that the corporate collaboration went beyond just giving the team cash to do as they pleased, despite the criticism from the public at the time. Deliverables will exist, she declared. The agreement includes money for the women’s division and the council logo to be used on NRLW uniforms.
