NFL Network Draft Analyst Daniel Jeremiah stated that there could be two clear fits if the Denver Broncos decide to choose quarterback with the 12th pick of the first round on a conference call with NFL media members on Thursday. They anticipate benching longtime starter Russell Wilson, therefore they’ll need a replacement.

When the NFL Draft rolls around in 2024, Jeremiah believes the Broncos will select either former Oregon signal caller Bo Nix or national championship quarterback J.J. McCarthy from Michigan.

” “I think to me with the Broncos, McCarthy and Nix would be the two that make a lot of sense if they were going to stick and pick one there. “

After Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Jayden Daniels, the primary distinction between these two quarterbacks and the other quarterbacks available is their capacity to read defences and cognitively process plays prior to the offensive play. Compared to their predecessors, they are more accurate, efficient, and adept at protecting the football.

“I believe both of those individuals do that really, very well, especially Sean Peyton, who we discussed before in the call as being preoccupied with processing. That’s probably a plus for them. Even though it can be difficult to discern from viewing tape how these men think, they constantly don’t know what the play calls, reads, or other details are. For Sean Payton, those players seem to be pretty essential because they both work well, are highly accurate, and safeguard the football.””

Denver does not have a second-round pick, so they would have to settle for anybody they like if they fell to the third round. There has also been a lot of conjecture surrounding Denver that they may select a quarterback later in the draft, possibly with their next pick. It’s assumed that the Broncos would go left tackle to cover the quarterback’s blind side, whoever that quarterback may be, if they decide against going with McCarthy or Nix, which doesn’t seem likely. Jeremiah anticipates that they will select a left tackle later in the draft.

“There’s definitely something to work with there because he can really collapse opponents in the run game. He is that kind of person, then. Patrick Paul from Houston seems quite unpolished to me. He will most likely go someplace on day two at some point, perhaps around the third round. He is most likely going to go. Despite his enormous length and 6’7″ weight, 333 pounds, he may advance to the second round.”

In conclusion, I humbly believe that the Broncos will not select a left tackle in the first round. McCarthy will be hired, ushering in a new era of Bronco football. There are still a lot of excellent players, and in my opinion, they will go left tackle in the third round. Maybe Jeremiah is right and Paul will be available when Denver makes its third-round selection.
