Nicolo Zaniolo’s departure is mostly due to the presence of Aston Villa players Jacob Ramsey and Morgan Rogers, insiders have told Football Insider.

Since Rogers joined the Birmingham giants during the January transfer window and Ramsey made his comeback from injury, Zaniolo, 24, has fallen in the hierarchy.

It is thought that Zaniolo’s past and present injury history, along with his oftentimes poor performances, are major concerns for Villa’s management.

It appears that Nicolo Zaniolo will be leaving Aston Villa because of Jacob Ramsey and Morgan Rogers.
He was last started in the Premier League against Bournemouth by Unai Emery in early December, but since then, he has only been used as a substitute.

He signed a loan-to-purchase agreement with Galatasaray, with a “compulsory” option to buy if certain requirements are completed, but he is anticipated to return to his parent club at the end of the season.

In the meanwhile, Ramsey, 22, has started seven of the last nine league games since making a comeback from a foot injury in December.

Following his remarkable achievements at Middlesbrough, Rogers, 21, moved to Villa Park in a transaction allegedly worth up to £16 million, and club executives and Emery had high expectations for him.

He has made just two appearances so far, both from the bench, but is expected to be a major part of Villa’s long-term plans.

After defeating Nottingham Forest 4-2 on Saturday, February 24, Aston Villa maintained their fourth-place standing in the Premier League standings.

The next game they play is on Saturday night (2 March) against Luton Town.
