CBS News Texas (DALLAS, TX) – On Saturday, the Texas Black Sports Hall of Fame inducted Nate Newton, a former standout offensive tackle for the Dallas Cowboys, along with other individuals.
Six-time Pro Bowler Newton was a member of three Super Bowl-winning teams.
Additional 2024 Class of Inductees include: Roger B. Brown (journalism, posthumously); Fred Whitfield (rodeo); Abron Young, Jr. (coach); Jennifer Bell (basketball), Tamicha Jackson (basketball), Robert Pack Jr. (basketball), Retha Swindell (basketball), Bobby Brooks (football), Marvin Washington (football), Richard Bonner (golf).
The Texas Black Sports Hall of Fame is housed in the African American Museum of Dallas in Fair Park and was founded in 1996.
