The potential England international also hinted that it would take something exceptional to entice him away from Ibrox. He may become the first Ibrox player to be called up to the Three Lions team since Paul Gascoigne.

After spending the last few years in the Premier League wilderness, the nine-time England cap hero Jack Butland has been a revelation for Rangers since joining the team in the summer.

But it’s becoming obvious that the transfer interest was never going to happen as the custodian establishes himself as a key member of the Rangers team.

Jack Butland on Nottingham Forest transfer interest

In an interview with BBC Sport, Jack Butland discussed rumours that Nottingham Forest may have expressed interest in hiring him in January.

Although the Premier League team was not directly mentioned, it is well known that the City Ground club made an inquiry about the goalkeeper’s availability last month.

Butland makes provocative remarks, saying he still has too much to do at Rangers and that, at least for the time being, he wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.

Butland declared, “It was a no on all fronts from the get-go.” I’m having fun with it, he remarked. “There’s too much to do and too much to accomplish.

“I’ve connected with a club here in a way that I haven’t felt in a long time. That’s hard to give up easily.

Rangers goalkeeper finding himself at Ibrox

Jack Butland was once one of the most promising young players in English football, but in recent seasons, his career has taken some challenging twists.

Things didn’t go as planned after Butland moved from Stoke City to Crystal Palace in 2020, where he was hoping to stay in the Premier League as a goalkeeper. He only made 17 appearances in three years.

During the second half of the previous season, Jack Butland did not make an appearance during his loan spell at his childhood club, Manchester United, and it seemed that he would only be a backup goalie south of the border.

However, since Jack Butland purchased the Blue Sea of Ibrox from Michael Beale in the summer, Rangers and the goalie have been a match made in heaven.

Allan McGregor, the club legend, has made a smooth adjustment, and Butland has at last found a platform and a team bigger than his elite level ability.

Ironically, Jack Butland is just now being watched by the Premier League and teams like Nottingham Forest, despite Rangers undoubtedly paying him somewhere in the neighbourhood of £20 million for his services.

From an Ibrox perspective, it’s a little ironic that sporting director of Nottingham Forest Ross Wilson would go back to his old team and make one of the better transfers in the previous five years, following a string of awful signings at Ibrox.

Calvin Bassey, a former Rangers defender, scores for Fulham as they triumph over Manchester United at Old Trafford in a historic comeback.

Calvin Bassey, a 24-year-old defender, scored the game’s first goal off a second-half corner after reacting fastest in the box. It was his first goal for the team.
