An AFC opponent may knock on the running back’s room door this offseason as the Baltimore Ravens consider free agent moves and the running back position. Last season, Gus Edwards played excellently in place of starter J.K. Dobbins, who suffered an Achilles injury in Week 1 and was out for the remainder of the year.

However, there is conjecture that Baltimore wants to improve at running back, and that Eric DeCosta, the general manager, is investigating free agents outside of the league like Josh Jacobs, Tony Pollard, Derrick Henry, and Saquon Barkley. The Los Angeles Chargers are one team that would make sense if the organisation decides to move on from Edwards, according to EbonyBird.

“Once they finish cutting some of their worst contracts, the Los Angeles Chargers, who are currently managed by General Manager Joe Hortiz—who was hired directly out of the Ravens front office—are one team that makes a tonne of sense for him. Hortiz has a deeper knowledge of Edwards than most NFL players do.The Chargers need to add some more physicality to their offence because Hortiz is in charge there and Greg Roman, the offensive coordinator for the Ravens, was just appointed to fill the same role. This makes them an excellent destination for a back like Edwards who is hoping to earn a large salary.”

Naturally, Roman was part of the Ravens’ original roster when they signed Edwards as an undrafted free agent. Currently, he leads the offence in Los Angeles under head coach Jim Harbaugh. Edwards may find it ideal as he should already be aware of Roman’s transgression.
