Since joining the Scottish team on loan in January, Idah has been playing well, tallying four goals in his first four games. The Irishman turned the tide of the game for the Hoops in a 3-1 victory over Motherwell, scoring two of those goals off the bench that weekend.

The 23-year-old left Norwich due to a lack of game time under David Wagner. In the 28 appearances he had for the Canaries before leaving the Championship, only twelve were from the start, with Josh Sargent or Ashley Barnes usually preferred up front.

Idah is reportedly open to joining the Scottish champions, and he is drawn to the prospect of playing football in Europe the following season. He recently discussed how he thrives under the strain of playing for a team like Celtic.

“I think I thrive off pressure; there’s always pressure at Celtic because it’s such a big club with enormous demands on everyone.”

That’s what makes me happy. That’s the main reason why many players play football. You get that little bit of incentive from that pressure. That’s when I know I perform at my best.

If the Hoops decide to seek a permanent transfer, they will need to negotiate with the Championship club as they did not include a buy option in the contract for the striker. According to Transfermarkt, Idah is currently worth £2.9 million on the market.
