LaMelo Ball has been out of action for Charlotte Hornets’ last 14 games due to a problematic ankle. The All-Star point guard has reportedly made significant progress on his road to recovery of late, but it has now been confirmed that he’s just not quite there yet.

Right now, fans will have to wait a bit longer before they see Ball back on the court.

Ball has not participated in a game since January 26. He hasn’t been able to play for a month because of a persistent problem with his right ankle.

Supporters of the Hornets should take solace in the fact that their star guard returned to practice last week, indicating that he was getting close. But as it happens, they’re still not that close. This comes after Charlotte formally declared him ineligible for the Bucks game on Tuesday.

LaMelo will miss his 15th consecutive game due to this most recent ailment.

It wouldn’t be shocking if the Hornets continued to hold Ball out for a few more games before he was cleared to play again, given that they aren’t playing for anything this season. After all, they do not want this injury to cause a setback for their franchise star.

Ball’s absence means that the 15-42 Hornets, who are already viewed as the underdogs against the Bucks on Tuesday, will find it more difficult to stay up with Giannis Antetokounmpo and company at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee.
