However, the Hoops manager has disclosed that Cameron Carter-Vickers is prepared to go into tomorrow’s Premiership match against Dundee. In Sunday’s 3-1 victory over Motherwell, Polish goalkeeper Nawrocki came in from the cold to start in place of Stephen Welsh.
Carter-Vickers took over for the £4.3 million summer acquisition at the hour mark as the Hoops overcame a late deficit to earn a precious three points at Fir Park. However, it was revealed yesterday night that Nawrocki had to undergo extensive therapy after being unable to practice on Monday. Due to a hamstring injury, the 23-year-old has already missed a significant portion of the season; nonetheless, Rodgers anticipates the center back’s return to action soon.

As the Hoops rallied from a late deficit to secure a crucial three points at Fir Park, Carter-Vickers took over for the £4.3 million summer acquisition around the hour mark. But Nawrocki’s inability to practice on Monday necessitated prolonged rehabilitation, as was disclosed last night. The 23-year-old has already missed a large chunk of the season because of a hamstring injury, but Rodgers expects the center back to be back in the lineup shortly.

Now, though, has revealed he has spoken with Lewis to clear the air and he says the journalist did not take offence. And he pointed to todays society in his address on how people are “looking to offend”.

“Obviously sadly for me I think in society we’re either looking to offend or for something that is offensive to try and pin onto people,” he said. “I think you guys since I’ve been up here, any journalist or reporter or in media, I’ve always based my life on relationships. So I’ve always offered a warmth and respect, courteous and offered time to people. That will never change.

Naturally, I felt compelled to confront the issue when there was any small or large amount of it out there. As I mentioned before, I work with people in my life, whether they be athletes or people in the media, whose relationships I hope to improve. Jane wasn’t offended when I spoke with her; in fact, we laughed about it. I’m sure she’ll keep asking me embarrassing questions.
