In comparison to his tenure with the Los Angeles Lakers, Russell Westbrook’s time with the Los Angeles Clippers has gone much better.

For Westbrook, who was born and raised in Los Angeles, his trade to the Lakers was celebrated as a return home.

Westbrook rose to prominence at UCLA and would go on to have a decorated NBA career.

The former MVP seems genuinely delighted to be playing in his hometown, despite having a much lower role with the Clippers.

Being well-known for his philanthropy, Westbrook may often be seen at community and charity activities when he’s not playing basketball.

Not surprisingly, the guard wants to use his own Instagram account to make more investments in Los Angeles.

“Happy to be making investments in South Central Los Angeles, my hometown. Our 180 affordable housing apartments will be surrounded by neighborhood-focused businesses, with Target serving as the anchor. True LA native,” wrote Westbrook.

Finding housing that satisfies local needs and finances might be challenging in a densely populated city like Los Angeles, but Westbrook is making every effort to help.

Although not many players in the NBA would go to such extremes to support the city in which they play, Westbrook clearly has a great deal of affection for Los Angeles.

It will be fascinating to watch Westbrook’s housing plan come to fruition in the upcoming years, despite the fact that he is known for his aggressive demeanour off the court.
