The Boston Celtics and Denver Nuggets are now regarded by many as the two best NBA teams, and many believe that they will face one other in the championship series this summer.

Detroit Pistons' Stan Van Gundy: I'm 'poster boy for white privilege'

With a 46-12 record, the Celtics not only enjoy a sizable lead in the Eastern Conference but also hold the best record in the league, comfortably surpassing the Minnesota Timberwolves.

According to SiriusXM NBA Radio, former NBA head coach Stan Van Gundy, who is currently an NBA analyst on TNT, expressed his astonishment if Boston doesn’t win the championship and stated they’re “as far above everyone” as he’s ever seen.

With a nine-game winning run and the top offensive and defensive ratings in the NBA, Boston is currently the hottest club in the league.

They may have the greatest starting lineup in the NBA thanks to centre Kristaps Porzingis, who has combined rim protection with low-post scoring.

The bench is probably the Celtics’ weakest link; none of their backup players average more than 8.0 points per game, and the team ranks 28th in bench points per contest.

Furthermore, the unanswered issue remains whether their best player, Jayson Tatum, can take them all the way.

He didn’t perform well in the 2022 NBA Finals, and in the Eastern Conference Finals Game 7 of the previous season, he only managed 14 points on 5-of-13 shooting.

Tatum needs to lead the Celtics to a world championship in order to establish his credentials as a superstar.
