After that, the 27-year-old guard and youngster Cam Whitmore of Houston got into a verbal confrontation as they were walking back down the floor. The two got chest to chest very quickly after they started talking, and they had to be separated when Whitmore seemed to swing at Booker.
Here’s another angle of the incident, which appears to show the two going back and forth, with Booker pushing Whitmore aside. But the Rockets rookie seemingly took issue with that, which escalated the situation quickly.
After things cooled off, Booker was called for a foul while both players received technicals. Gerald Bourguet of PHNX Sports stated that this had “been brewing for a while” between Booker and Whitmore.
