Rangers acknowledges that throughout his brief tenure as a Malik Tillman player, he was impressed by Old Firm matches.
The 21-year-old midfielder participated in five league and cup matches against Celtic squads while on loan at Ibrox in 2022–2023; he also made appearances in a Scottish Cup semifinal and a Viaplay Cup final. Even though he and his team did not end up winning that season, the Bayern loanee was nonetheless in awe by the event and the energy.
Now at PSV, still on loan from the German giants but poised to make it permanent, he is involved in derbies against Feyenoord. But he insists the famous Glasgow clash is “on another level” to that and has detailed just what it’s like to play in, particularly the unique element of no away fans.
