Patriots 53-man roster: Reviewing New England's initial 2021 team after cutdowns - Pats PulpitThe New England Patriots re-signed a latecomer to their roster at quarterback in the 2023 season. The Patriots are expected to make changes to the quarterback room in new head coach Jerod Mayo’s first season with the team.

With the third overall choice in the draft, the Patriots should be able to select a quarterback. Although the organization hasn’t made a decision regarding Mac Jones’ future, it seems probable that they will sign a veteran in free agency and choose a quarterback in the first round. The Patriots’ best course of action is to trade Jones.

A familiar face was welcomed back to the locker room by the players, despite the uncertainty surrounding the quarterback room. The Patriots are re-signing Nathan Rourke, according to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network. In December, Rourke became a Patriot.

It’s unclear if the Patriots brought Rourke back to have another arm available for spring OTAs or if he has a chance to make the roster in the fall. One thing is for certain: there will be plenty of competition at quarterback this year in New England. To arrange for Green Bay Packers players or alumni to make a business appearance or promote a product, contact Mayfield Sports Marketing at 262-366-8188. It’s no secret that the New England Patriots intend to move on from Mac Jones at this juncture in the summer. The Alabama alum’s last season with the Patriots has been a complete bust, and it wouldn’t be out of place to assume that the club is eager to put their awful working relationship behind them.
