As the NFL draft of this year draws near, the Chicago Bears are becoming the team that the top quarterbacks in the game want to play for.

J.J. McCarthy, a former national champion quarterback for the University of Michigan, was raised outside of Chicago before moving to Ann Arbour to command the most dominant squad in the Big 10 in recent years. McCarthy stated that joining the Bears, who have the rights to the top choice, would be the fulfilment of a lifetime ambition during the NFL Combine on Friday, March 1

McCarthy stated, “It’s been one of my dreams,” according to Pete Nakos of On3.com. It would undoubtedly be a dream come true.

Caleb Williams Sets Record Straight on Thoughts Toward Bears Ahead of NFL Draft

McCarthy, regrettably, is unlikely to go first overall because the Bears seem certain to choose former USC quarterback Caleb Williams.

Although Williams recently refuted reports that he isn’t interested in moving to Chicago, he hasn’t talked about the Bears with the same fervour as McCarthy.

“I’m not one to talk much in public. However, it was crucial to Williams that she release something before to her arrival, “especially in light of the commotion and other issues that have been building up,” according to Courtney Cronin of ESPN. “I just wanted to make sure that everyone was aware of the source.”

Williams continued by saying that he would be just as thrilled to sign with his hometown team, the Washington Commanders, as he would be with the Bears.

Williams stated, “I’ll be excited if I get drafted by the Bears,” according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel. “I’m just as excited if they trade the pick and someone else drafts me.” When it comes to Chicago, they have a strong squad with a strong offence and defence. I believe that anyone in those circumstance would be thrilled.

Jayden Daniels Dark Horse Candidate to Land With Bears at No. 1 or Via Trade Down

In interviews at the combine, former LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels has also wowed a number of teams, solidifying his ascent into the top three in the April draft.

Daniels might therefore surprise everyone by surpassing Williams, or at the very least, make himself a target for the Bears if they want to trade down a selection or two with the Commanders or New England Patriots.

McCarthy is unlikely to end up with the Bears given Williams’ position as the probable No. 1 pick and Daniels’ ascent after winning the Heisman Trophy. Nevertheless, in the weeks preceding the draft, his stock has also increased.

McCarthy is ranked as the fourth-best quarterback prospect by Derrik Klassen of Bleacher Report, after Williams, Daniels, and UNC’s Drake Maye, in that order. McCarthy is ranked No. 4 among quarterbacks by ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr., who also predicts that the Seahawks, who pick No. 16, will select McCarthy.

Kiper also predicted that Williams will ultimately land with Chicago at No. 1 overall.
