NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reports that Devin Booker, a prominent player for the Phoenix Suns, would miss seven to ten days due to an ankle ailment.

In the game against the Houston Rockets on March 2, Booker injured his right ankle.

The Suns lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder on March 3 without Booker, who is averaging 27.5 points, 4.6 rebounds and 6.8 assists on the season while shooting 49.4% from the field, 37.9% from beyond the arc and 88.0% from the free-throw line.

Phoenix is 35-26 on the season. The team is in seventh place in the Western Conference standings

Following the Thunder’s defeat, Bradley Beal, a guard for the Suns, stated, “We got time, but we can’t keep saying we got time.” There are just 21 games remaining. There are enough games to really get us warmed up and ready for the postseason. That will be incredibly beneficial to us, in my opinion, but we must move on. We have to stop discussing it. It is imperative that we take action. We must take this steamroller by surprise.

As far as points per game goes, the Suns rank 13th in the NBA, while their opponents rank 16th. Phoenix would have qualified for the play-in round if the season ended today.

In six games, the Suns were defeated by the Denver Nuggets in the 2023 playoffs’ second round. Last summer, they acquired Jusuf Nurkic from the Portland Trail Blazers and Beal from the Washington Wizards.

It was anticipated that Booker, Beal, Nurkic, and Kevin Durant, the “Big 4,” would contend for the title this year. Whether the Suns qualify for the 2024 postseason will be interesting to watch.

Booker, Durant, Beal, and Nurkic will need to perform well if Phoenix advances to the postseason in order for the team to win the championship.
