In a week defined by record-setting accomplishments, LeBron James extended his league record with his 66th Player of the Week award. This is the seventh time he has won the award with the Lakers but the first this season.

Perhaps the most exciting week in LeBron’s Lakers career was this one. He began it with a 21-point comeback against the Clippers in the fourth quarter, scoring 19 of his 34 points during that decisive frame. He scored 31 points in the team’s overtime victory over the Wizards the following night.

He finished his incredible week on Saturday by defeating the Nuggets with 26 points, but the night will always be remembered for him scoring his 40,000th career point. Even though it resulted in another defeat, which was typical of LeBron’s stay in Los Angeles, the accomplishment remained unaffected.

With LeBron James’s career accomplishments paired with his statistical dominance in individual games, it’s difficult to imagine a greater week overall. In Year 21, starting a career is already unique. LeBron also received this honor for his outstanding performance this week.

LeBron has won Player of the Week for the first time, and no other Laker has done it either. LeBron and Anthony Davis are both playing well, but the Lakers haven’t been able to earn any nominations for Player of the Week or Player of the Month.
