What does 2-10 record say about Kyle Shanahan? The offensive line of the San Francisco 49ers in 2023 was among the most potent in recent memory. With 21 touchdowns in all last season, running back Christian McCaffrey placed #1. Deebo Samuel is one of the NFL’s most distinctive offensive weapons because of his quickness, agility, and adaptability. In the Super Bowl last month, George Kittle solidified his status as one of the game’s top tight ends, and Jauan Jennings produced some huge plays.

The incredibly gifted Brandon Aiyuk is arguably one of the most vital components of Kyle Shanahan’s offense. Since making his NFL debut in 2020, Arizona State’s 6’0″ wide receiver has been exceptional.

Aiyuk finds himself approaching the final year of his rookie contract and is yet to finalize an extension with the Bay Area club. After a successful four-year spell with the team, there will be plenty of interest for the receiver if he does hit the open market.

Per a recent piece from Pro Football Talk, teammate Deebo Samuel believes Aiyuk isn’t going anywhere.

“Yeah, I love that guy. I don’t see him leaving, though,” said Samuel.

Make of that what you will, but 49ers fans will be thrilled at the prospect of one of their star players re-signing a long-term deal.

Additionally, 49ers general manager John Lynch has stated that he wants to keep Aiyuk, saying, “Brandon’s been a fantastic player for us.”

Aiyuk has accrued 269 receptions, 27 touchdowns overall, and 3931 receiving yards throughout his four seasons with the team.

With multiple players on large contracts, it will be intriguing to watch how the 49ers handle their payroll in the upcoming season. Shanahan and the 49ers will be eager to hold onto one of their most potent weapons following yet another outstanding campaign.
