Despite having one of the strongest rosters in the NFL, the Baltimore Ravens could still do better in a few areas. The team may have to operate on a tight budget this summer because they are currently about $10 million over the salary ceiling. Their collection of edge defenders is one area that needs attention, particularly since standout players Kyle Van Noy and Jadeveon Clowney will be entering free agency this offseason. Fortunately for them, they could be able to sign one of the better pass rushers in the league right now.

Star pass rusher Chase Young of the San Francisco 49ers has emerged as one of Baltimore’s top targets to sign this summer. Young was able to play well in his first full year back after suffering an ACL tear a few years prior. He was selected second overall in the 2020 selection, and although he hasn’t yet lived up to that position, he is still a young athlete with a lot of promise.

In his brief career, Young has amassed 100 total tackles and 16.5 sacks since entering the league in 2020. His best season occurred during his rookie year, when he produced 44 tackles and 7.5 sacks, winning him the league’s Defensive Rookie of the Year award. But back in 2021, the player sustained an ACL tear, which limited his playing time the next season.

The star pass rusher appeared to be on the rise again with the 49ers in 2023, despite having a modest season. Young contributed to the squad in a limited number of games by recording 10 tackles and 2.5 sacks while playing next to Nick Bosa. For the elite pass rusher to regain his form and establish himself as one of the best pass rushers in the game, Baltimore would be a solid choice.
