Russell Wilson says trade to Broncos was 'mutual,' came to Denver to win 'three to four more Super Bowls' | CNNPittsburgh This week, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ South Side practice facility will play host to one of the best quarterbacks available this offseason as a free agency. Russell Wilson, a former quarterback for the Seahawks and Broncos, has reportedly arrived at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex in preparation for his meeting with the Steelers, per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.

It’s been a busy day for Wilson, who took an “exploratory meeting” with the Giants on the way to Pittsburgh and is expected to meet with the Las Vegas Raiders, among other teams as well. Wilson, a nine-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion in 2013, threw for 3,070 yards, 26 touchdowns and eight interceptions last season, his second with the Broncos. Denver released him earlier this week and the Steelers immediately became a logical fit.

Wilson would be seen as an experienced mentor and backup for Steelers 2022 first-round pick Kenny Pickett, who is the team’s sole quarterback at the moment, according to a report from All Steelers’ Noah Strackbein. Wilson’s decision to sign a contract with the Steelers will probably be decided at this meeting, which is also crucial to the future of Pittsburgh’s quarterback position.
