Following Friday’s 2-0 Championship loss to the Whites, Marvin Johnson, a star for Sheffield Wednesday, was seen performing the Leeds United salute (8 March).

The Whites’ much-needed victory put the Owls in the relegation zone with 38 points, and the defender faced Wilfried Gnonto.

On the opposite side of the table, Leeds passed Ipswich Town by two points and got closer to league leaders Leicester City ahead of their separate games against Hull City and Cardiff City.

Wednesday supporter James Kay posted a picture of Johnson doing the Leeds salute on X on Saturday, March 9, along with the message, “Two weeks wages for me this, embarrassing.”

Leeds United wins a crucial 2-0 at Hillsborough.
Daniel Farke’s team is in a desperate situation right now as the race for the championship intensifies with Leicester and Ipswich. In the championship games, anything might happen because the top three teams are separated by just three points.

If one of the Foxes or the Tractor Boys makes a mistake, the Whites may very well have to take responsibility for their own future.

Wednesday presented as a potential banana skin for Leeds on Friday, with the Owls coming into the match in form, claiming five victories in their last six matches. Despite this, Farke and his team were always favourites.

Danny Rohl was defeated 2-0 by Patrick Bamford and Gnonto, demonstrating why the Championship’s leading team is rapidly approaching promotion.

Marvin, tasked with marking the latter, was unable to do more than watch as Gnonto scored a beautiful goal for Leeds’ second of the game, securing all three points.
