Beginning on Wednesday, March 13th, with the start of the new league year, comes free agency. The most well-known player in the quarterback market is former Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson. Wilson’s market is expected to appear like a lot of conjecture, but now we have some solid information. Wilson’s new team’s odds were revised and published by DraftKings Sportsbook. As the offseason goes on, Russell Wilson will continue to meet with teams.
Russell Wilson met with the Steelers on Friday, but he left without an agreement. At the 2024 NFL Combine, Steelers General Manager Omar Kahn expressed his delight for Kenny Pickett under new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, giving him his complete support.
“We are thrilled with Kenny and the impact Arthur Smith will have on both Kenny and the offense,” Khan stated.
After quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and the Raider offense failed to get anything going in the previous season, which resulted in the firing of former head coach Josh McDaniels, the Las Vegas Raiders are facing their own quarterback problems. If the Raiders want to contend in the AFC, they will need to address the quarterback position this offseason under new head coach Antonio Pierce.
The Raiders currently hold the 13th overall pick in this upcoming draft which appears to be late for a top quarterback prospect, so if the Raiders want to acquire a Quarterback via the draft, they will need to trade up. There hasn’t been much speculation on if the Raiders will be willing to give up the draft capital required to make this move. Making it more likely we see the Raiders searching free agency for their next quarterback.
