Nuno Espirito Santo, the manager of Nottingham Forest, made an odd substitute on Sunday against Brighton, which Kelvin Wilson has been discussing.

The Forest Focus podcast has been featuring the former defender.

What statement made by Wilson regarding Forest’s head coach Espirito Santo did he find most puzzling over the weekend? Let’s investigate more closely.

On Sunday, Kelvin Wilson explained what Forest done that baffled him.
This statement was made in response to Forest head coach Espirito Santo’s decision to substitute Cheikhou Kouyate for Morgan Gibbs-White in the 87th minute.

To the dismay of both stadium and home viewers, the Reds were pursuing the game when the odd number 10 appeared on the fourth official’s board.

Wilson thinks that in the last moments of the competition, Forest’s decision to follow route one was just a matter of horses for courses.

“I’m not a manager, but yes, you look at it from the outside and it looks like panic stations now trying all sorts just to figure out what is right,” he said on the Forest Focus podcast.

“The sole thought I have regarding Gibbs-White is that they intended to take route one, and Kouyate is a large man.” I can only interpret it in that way. It was not really clear.

The most recent setback must teach Espirito Santo.
Espirito Santo hasn’t made many mistakes since arriving at the City Ground, but on Sunday, he made a huge mistake that resulted in Forest losing once more.

Luton is approaching, so Forest needs to get their act together. In the end, Espirito Santo will have to take on the responsibility of turning things around.

Wilson is correct when he makes these remarks, and he is speaking for the vast majority of supporters who thought the Gibbs-White decision was absurd.

It made no sense to take him off the field while down in the game, and the fact that he went to Kouyate when there were other attacking options available on the bench was also inexplicable.

With any luck, Espirito Santo will take note of this extremely strange Forest circumstance.
