NFL free agency is underway, and the Washington Commanders have already made some big additions under new general manager Adam Peters. Following his viewing of some of the Commanders’ most recent free agency acquisitions, Robert Griffin III, a former Washington quarterback who is now a sports analyst, expressed his opinions about Peters’ initial moves.

Peters, who arrived in Washington after working for years in the San Francisco 49ers front office alongside trench maulers like former Commanders left tackle Trent Williams and elite running back Christian McCaffrey, should know all about the value of having a strong offensive line and run game. For Washington, this summer is crucial as head coach Dan Quinn and new manager Peters work to define the Commanders’ future identity and culture.

If Mariota is any indication of the kind of quarterback Peters wants behind center for the next season, two quarterbacks who might fit that description are Justin Fields of the Chicago Bears, who is currently on the trade block, and Jayden Daniels of LSU, who the team could draft with its No. 2 overall pick. For the time being, though, Griffin says that things are going well for Peters; only time will tell if he can build on his impressive start to the summer.
