Boston — Two of the NBA’s top scorers, Jayson Tatum and Kevin Durant, are leading the Phoenix Suns and Boston Celtics in their respective postseason races.

Throughout his 16 NBA seasons, Durant has set the bar high, dominating the game and winning two MVP awards in the postseason. Tatum has found him to be a star to challenge, and their meetings never fail to dazzle the crowd.

Tatum is 5-4 against Durant going into their most recent game on Thursday. They have faced off against each other in both the regular season and the postseason. During the 2021 postseason, Tatum scored 50 points in the Celtics’ lone victory over Durant’s Brooklyn Nets, who defeated Boston in five games. When the Boston team advanced to the NBA Finals the next season, the star player once again rose to the occasion with a game-winning layup at the buzzer in Game 1 that ignited a sweep of the Nets in the opening round of the playoffs.

It is impossible to argue that Durant and Tatum have not had an affect on one another over their years of competitiveness. The Phoenix Suns player, who is now Tatum’s older brother, was recently forecasted by Durant to continue being the league’s dominant forward for the next ten years.

The two stars were constantly challenging one another on the court on Thursday night, which increased the level of competition. As soon as Durant hit a mid-range shot over Tatum to open the scoring, both players came to play. After scoring 29 points in total in the first quarter, the forwards continued to play hard into the second.

In the last moments of the first half, Tatum overcame Durant by making two outstanding 3-pointers from the left corner over the 6-foot-11 defense. For the majority of the evening, the two dare one other to improve their play by defensively following each other.
