After an incredible season in the National League, Chesterfield is just a few points away from winning the championship. If Barnet can avoid losing at The Shay on Tuesday, they will have a chance to accomplish so.

However, Town still has a lot to gain from the match; a victory would put them in the play-off spots. Town made it six wins in a row with their triumph against Oxford City on Sunday.

“Looking forward to it,” Cooper told the Courier, “similar to other games under the lights at The Shay against a big team.

“They are the incoming champions, and Tuesday night’s Barnet matchup with Eastleigh might determine it before then.

“We’ve already prepared for the match once; we’ll go over their previous outings and personnel adjustments.

We’ll be ready for the match, which should be entertaining to watch because two sides will be vying for the win.

“We have a lot to gain, we’re playing well, and we’ll be very driven to keep up our current winning streak.

We will not overestimate ourselves when examining the league standings due to the current state of the games we still have to play.

“We won’t get dragged into that and the ifs and buts, we’ll just fully focus on ourselves and getting a performance like we’ve had lately.”

Cooper states he doesn’t think any players on Town’s injured list will return for the encounter.
