Derby, now in second place in League One and four points clear of Bolton, is vying for promotion to the Championship.
With a recent point deduction that put them back into the Premier League relegation zone, Forest is fighting to stay in the league.
Derby supporters want to repeat their historic triumphs from the past and believe that Forest’s relegation will rekindle their rivalry on the field.
In recent seasons, Derby County and Nottingham Forest, the two major East Midlands clubs, have been complete opposites on the field.

The Rams have been relegated to League One in the last few seasons; their 2022 demotion marked their first stint in the third division of English football since 1992.

Forest, their neighbor to the north, has experienced a whole different kind of it. While Derby was demoted, Forest defeated Huddersfield Town in the Championship play-off final to earn promotion to the Premier League for the first time since 1999 in 2022.

After both staying put in their respective divisions last season, a recent development combined with matters on the pitch means we could see these fierce rivals meet once again next season.

The Rams are on the charge for promotion back to the Championship, currently sitting in second place in League One, four points clear of Bolton Wanderers in third.
