Carlos Locklyn’s name was initially linked to the Ohio State running backs coach search when a video clip from August of last year started to resurface on social media.

It’s possible that the former Oregon running backs coach, during his conversations with coach Ryan Day and the Buckeye running backs, left a similar impression. According to Pete Thamel of ESPN, Locklyn accepted a two-year contract to replace Tony Alford. An official announcement might happen Monday night, according to a team source.

“Running backs are going to take on the mentality of the guy that coached them,” Locklyn said in a video clip posted by KOIN’s Brenna Greene. “I’m a dog. My guys play like that. They’re disciplined, they’re going to play hard, and they know I do not play. We’re going to be a physical bunch, simple as that.”
