When the ball came to him on the edge of the box during second-half added time on Easter Monday against Watford, Darnell Furlong admits he had just one thought in mind.

Watford and Albion fought to a 2-2 draw, but the full-back stunned the Brummie Road End with a spectacular equalizer after receiving a square pass.

Furlong scored his first goal at home since heading in against Ipswich Town in November. It was his fourth goal of the year.

The defender also quipped that he took aim because he was short on options.

“It was a nice goal and an important one at the end of the game,” Darnell remarked.

“In really dramatic circumstances, it was a critical moment to score.

“After we got the equalizer, there was a moment when we thought we might lose the game. After that, I thought we might even win it.”

“Scoring is always enjoyable, but earning three points would have been nice too.”

“I don’t think there was much else going on, so when the ball came to me, there was only one idea going through my head.
