Liel Abada, a former Celtics winger, might make his Charlotte FC debut this weekend. At the start of March, the treble-winning forward signed a club record eight million euros to join the American team.

His off-the-park situation at the Hoops was not ideal, and both parties wanted an end to it. With the 22-year-old’s move to the States, they got their wish.

Recently, Abada was on international duty with Israel where he hailed his time at Celtic as amazing.

He has now moved onto pastures new, though, and this weekend, the winger could feature for Charlotte for the first time:

His team, who are now sixth in the American league, plays Cincinnati in the MLS tomorrow night at 11:30 p.m. UK time.

Abada will try to have the same kind of influence at his new team as he had at Celtic a few years prior. Ange Postecoglou entered as a teenager and made an immediate impact in his rookie season.

A successful beginning in Glasgow set the stage for the child’s eventual extremely successful period of time. It’s unfortunate that his tenure with The Bhoys came to an end the way it did.
