Teams are looking to improve their position for both the upcoming season and the future, so as the NFL Draft approaches, trade talk is becoming more and more prevalent. The Bucs have already made a move, sending third-round pick to the Lions in exchange for cornerback Carlton Davis III.

What if there are still transactions to be done?

Dak Prescott Named 2022 Walter Payton Man of the Year

Bleacher Report has proposed a potential trade scenario in which the Bucs send outside linebacker Joe Tryon-Shyoinka to the Dallas Cowboys in return for a fifth-round choice in this year’s draft. Keep in mind that this is simply a hypothetical trade scenario. Here is a quick summary of the article along with the reasoning behind it.

“As it happens, Tryon’s contract of $2.2 million is affordable, and the Cowboys have a significant need on the edge. Dorance Armstrong and Dante Fowler Jr. are departing, leaving the Cowboys in need of a replacement at 716 snaps.

It’s best to weigh the advantages and disadvantages of any deal in relation to the Bucs, realistic or not. After being selected as the first round choice by the Bucs in 2021, Joe Tryon-Shoyinka has had a less than ideal three seasons with the team. In 51 games with 34 starts, JTS has accumulated 114 tackles, 13 sacks, and one forced fumble.

His playing time was limited over the latter two months of the season as the team’s third-round selection, rookie Yaya Diaby, replaced Shaq Barrett as the starting outside linebacker. Making the most of his opportunity, Diaby recorded 7.5 sacks, 3.5 of which came after he was named the full-time starter.
