During the 2023–24 NBA season, Jalen Brunson, a point guard for the New York Knicks, has become a star. In addition to being selected for his first All-Star game, he has a great chance of being included on one of the All-NBA teams.

Even while supporters and teammates in the league are noticing how much better Brunson has become, he is still treated with disdain in one area. Since the NBA is a star-driven league, players may occasionally receive favorable treatment while playing. Brunson hasn’t benefited from that benefit of the doubt yet, for whatever reason.

Every night, Brunson gets close to the paint, but without a whistle being blown, an opponent crushes him. Because they are human, referees will err like everyone else in their line of work. However, a few of the Brunson non-calls have gotten really bad.

He is not a player who avoids physical contact. A career-high 61 points were scored by Brunson on Friday night against the San Antonio Spurs, with 30 of those points coming from within the paint. He could only attempt seven free throws, though.
