After Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker had a huge game in a victory over the New Orleans Pelicans, the NBA world was in disbelief. It turns out that Kevin Durant was among many who were struck speechless by his teammate’s incredible display.

Booker scored 52 points in that specific game, making 67 percent of his field goals, 50 percent of his three-pointers, and 85 percent of his free throws from the charity stripe. In addition, he contributed three rebounds and nine assists as the Suns defeated the Pelicans 124-111.

The Phoenix Suns rebuilt around the Big Three of Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal expecting to compete atop the Western Conference standings this regular season. Instead, first-year coach Frank Vogel’s team entered the final weeks of 2023-24 hoping to avoid the play-in before a playoff berth.

Phoenix on Monday got its biggest win of the season thus far in terms of affecting those chances.

The New Orleans Pelicans defeated them 124-111, bringing their current record to 30 losses—just one less than the Suns’ 31. Phoenix also won the tiebreaker, which means the Suns would win the season if both teams had the same record after 82 games.
