Yeovil Town’s audited financial statements for the June 2023 fiscal year are now available.
“All supporters know that this was a period of great instability, the financial state of the football club at the time it was acquired by the Hellier Group cannot be underestimated,” the club said in a statement posted on their website.
“There were significant financial liabilities owed to essential suppliers, kit manufacturers, and HMRC. The club had been helped by people who shouldn’t have been in that position during the last few weeks of the previous ownership.
Our goal in making this statement is to remain transparent, as we stated from the beginning. Except in cases where it is mandated by law, we have made an effort to maintain maximum transparency.
“The club’s stewardship era is encompassed in the accounting period as well. Even though they may have had the best of intentions, during this time period contracts that were not manageable, difficult to resolve, and not sustainable were agreed upon.
