From the minute he received an offer on January 20, Asher Wasserman was drawn to Duke and started forming a bond with coach Manny Diaz.

The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Wasserman was visited by Diaz and assistant coach Gabe Infante in late January, which proved beneficial. Last weekend, Wasserman made his last school visit, which completed his recruitment.

Wasserman committed to the Blue Devils. He is a tackling machine for one of the top programs in Connecticut. The coaches approached him about committing over Easter weekend while he was on campus with his parents, and he decided not long after.

“I went down there and it basically answered all my questions,” he said. “First of all, it is a great school. One of the best academic schools in the country. They had the major that I wanted, which is kinesiology. I went down and talked to the coaches, coach Diaz and (defensive coordinator/linebackers) coach (Jonathan) Patke, and they are great people.”
