Steelers Re-Sign Journeyman Kicker

After initially joining with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent following the 2019 NFL Draft, Wright has served as a member of the organization for several stints. He played for a while with the Tampa Bay Vipers in the XFL after being released before the season began.

In 2020, Wright joined the practice squad upon his return to the Steelers and was elevated during games. He participated in three games and made four of his four field goals, including one that was 46 yards long. He also made seven of his seven extra point tries.

Wright participated in 14 games for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2021 and made 21 of 24 field goals, including one from 56 yards. Additionally, he made 13 of 15 extra point attempts.

In 2022, with Chris Boswell sidelined due to injury, the Steelers added Wright from the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad to their 53-man roster. Wright participated in four games and made 12 of 14 field goals, including a 52-yard long shot, as well as seven of seven extra point attempts.

After appearing in two games and kicking three field goals, including a career-long 59-yarder, Wright was re-signed by the Chiefs later in 2022. He also went eight for eight on extra point attempts.
